Township and rural homes have gone through an extraordinary transformation fuelled by the homeowners investing in, extending, renovating and adding on to their former 4 room homes, shacks or rural homesteads.
These are largely unfinanced through traditional housing finance instruments but have been built with stokvel savings, laybye and incremental years long investments in building materials.
They currently however cannot realise the value of these homes and no tools exist to value these improved properties and issue valuation certificates that can be utilised to realise more value.
